This has been a burning question for over a year now. I have done an extensive web search on PALACE STORY and come up with nothing.

My middle school students last year had stationary from the series and I think the artwork is lovely. Maybe I am naive, and it is just a stationary series. My question is:

Is this a Korean anime drama series, and if so, where/when does it show?

What is the story? Are there episodes available in English?

Isn't there some hokey K-drama about the Korean royal family, set in modern times and as if the dastardly Japanese didn't destroy the Korean Imperial line?

(And how can Korea have an emperor? Declaring yourself Emperor over a spot of land no bigger than Florida has certain Emperor Nortonish qualities about it.)

No, not "Jewel in the Palace."

The second reply sounds promising...I like the anime-style artwork, but I can't find anything out about it. It might be a K-drama. There is a girl with fabulous pseudo-traditional fashion sense, and two boys - I bought the notebook at E-mart, and there is a whole series of stationery...

This used to bother me, too. I mean, how can Alexander, Frederick and Catherine be 'the Great' but not Julius Caesar and Napoleon? I found out there are rules to how you get to call yourself 'the Great' and not everyone qualifies. (The title must be granted by some kind of representative body.)

However, since the last king of Korea ignored the rules and I live in Korea, I figure I can also ignore the rules.

For quite some time now, I have been refering to myself as Ya-ta Boy the Great. I declared myself a sovereign nation, set up a national legislature and elected myself to it, then voted myself the title. It hasn't caught on yet, but I'm confident it will.

And by Stephen Colbert's standards you've set up a fabulous government. Well done.
