None of my students has shown today. Why? I don't know. I guess I'm still getting paid. |

| It's midterm time. The students have to study. Just relax and enjoy the break. |

| We had a picnic last firday, sports day on Monday, a school trip today, another sports day this Friday and exams right after Chuseok. (Between the 2 elementary schools and 2 middle schools in the area. Same thing happens in Spring, all of a sudden the schools have their trips and sports days. |

my school has the same thing but after Chuseok...first midterms, then a Phys. Ed. test, "School Festival" day, games day and then the day off of the high school entrance exams because all of my co-teachers at the Middle school are going to help out...
Having most of October off/classless will hopefully mean getting further in my studies or in my writing... |

My day was terrible for attendance too. We are having a 3 day 'festival' here. "Celebrities!!!!" every day. But all my students are running little soju-tents (it's how they make their money for their MTs) so they're all busy preparing their anju. Either that or their performing at the festival so they're doing soundchecks or dance practices or whatever.
I'm expecting Friday's attendance to be worse.. after two days of binge drinking they aint gonna be interested in studying. Plus lots of them are leaving real early for Chuseok (hard to get tickets)
Next Monday and Wednesday 's attendance are going to be the most pitiful. I pretty much cancelled Wednesday classes (against my bosses orders) but for Monday I told them they should come. But one 'absence' isn't the end of the world.. they got 11 before they fail the course, so most won't be there. They already booked their tickets home. For like tomorrow. Midterms are coming up the week October 17-20 so it is really a cruisy time for me now. I like it. |
