I have a buddy at work who's just quit and is now worried about the length of time he can stay jobless in Korea on an E7 visa before immigration comes a calling...

I guess it depends on how soon our company informs the immigration office? I know that he wants to take a couple of weeks off before starting anything new.

Anyone have any advice on this?

(Apologies if this has been answered 1,000 times but did a quick search & couldn't see much E7 stuff...)

Technically he has 14 days from his last day of employment until he must exit the country or apply for AND be granted a change in status of sojourn.

If he fails to do so, then he will be in an overstay position. Even if his employer doesn't tell immigration until day 15, he only has until day 14.
