Who plays it?
I have been playing it for a few years now, go to the local park and play with the old harabogis there and with my father-in-law.
Any of you play it? |

wow homer, am really impressed! I'm an avid chess player and was impressed with how similar changi was to chess. I tried it a few times when I was in Korea but always got the pieces confused (the medium sized ones, the same shape and size, can only tell the difference by recognising the old korean characters and I couldn't!). I was shamefully whooped by a 6th grader a few times so reverted back to chess... |

Are there sites where you can play them online? |

Yea, there are many Baduk sites. I like Yahoo, it's called GO on there. That's what pretty much the rest of the world calls it except for the Chinese(Weiqi). |

You can also play changi online hater depot...at yahoo games.
I tried it a few times but I much prefer playing with the guys at the park.
I got my butt handed to me a few times when I first played with them but now I can hold my own. I got to meet a lot of interesting people and its excellent for polishing my korean as these old dudes speak no English at all.
Changi is similar to traditional chess indeed. However, I find it to be more fluid of a game due to the way the pieces move. I play chess too but prefer changi (and have a growing interest in baduk as well). |

Does anybody know of any baduk clubs (called "kiwans" I think), either in Ansan or near the #4 subway line (light blue)? |

I don't have a clue, but they're not exactly rare. Just look at a place that has a sign "바둑 기원." |

Jangi is a snap for anyone good at Western chess. (the elephants I really like! as I'm traditionally good with the horse/knight - but the cannons are more fun)
I really want to learn how to play baduk. I can't seem to get the hang of it by simply watching the t.v. channel. I bought a full-sized set and a smaller magnetic travel set but have yet to have anyone show me the rules and ins and outs. Is there a good website to explain the basics. I haven't tried to google it, wanting a local to show me, but if there's one that helped you then why not. |

I've tried changi but prefer chess. Paduk is a great game but I suck at it. Vanislander you can learn to play paduk online: just play 'go' at yahoo games. |

This site is pretty great Van Islander. http://gobase.org/
I have been playing every day for the past 3 years and am getting pretty good. Probably about a 6급 level. |
