Commiserations.

Was it locked? Did they use bolt-cutters? A guy in my building parks his scooter behind parked cars. Makes it much harder for the cun.....er..crooks to carry it off.

nah last night i was a tired idiot. they probably just used a screwdriver in the ignition, they've tried it before unsuccessfully. they were successful this time.

it's gonna feel good if i see it putting down the street and punch the kid off my scooter.

I've always enjoyed that scene in a James Bond movie where the bad guys are trying to get into his parked car and his "car alarm" goes off--the whole car explodes.

Now that is a deterrent.

P.S. that pistol looks like a .45 Glock

Sorry man, that suuuuuuuuucks ass. I've had my scooter vandalized several times, but not yet stolen. Did you have insurance on it? My insurance covers theft, so yours might too if you got the same kind.

Mind if I ask the details? Do you usually chain it up at night or just park it in the parking garage?

that pistol is indeed a glock 23. .45 caliber. it would rearrange a thief pretty damn good.

no insurance, nothing, no papers. my bike was almost totally illegal. it only cost me 400,000 so i'm not certain it was worth insuring. but i miss it nonetheless. i neglected to lock it up. i'm a tool.

Lessee here.... No registration, no insurance, used, very cheap.

I'd say somebuddy "punched you off" their scooter. Kinda.

You know how when you were a kid there was that one stray dog who seemed different from all the rest? He'd hang around and play with kids in the field, follow them around, and generally show signs of friendliness, loyalty and wanting a home? Like he'd had an owner once, but the two got separated and now he's roaming the streets interviewing people for the position of "new owner". So one kid would bug his parents into taking the dog in and making him part of he family. But after a day the dog splits. 'Sorry, folks. Got a date. Thanks for the eats, the pets, the good times. Laterz!' He's the community dog.

Think of that scooter as not yours, not mine, but the community scooter.

no. it was legit, i just never bothered registering it. i bought it off a dude on this site who bought it off another dude on this site. from a totally different neighborhood in seoul.

it was high school kids. they steal bikes in my area all the time. if i catch them in the act i'll euthanize one of them.

My boss told me that the average Korean teenage boy knows how to hotwire a car or bike. He said often they'll take them out for joyrides and bring them back, or just ditch them somewhere. Kind of a rite or passage to prove they are cool. Down with the electronics and stuff.
