You're going to the Korean embassy. They're closed on both Korean and Japanese holidays. |

And probably a few others as well.

Would it be closed on the 4th? Is that one of the holidays? I know there are 3 days that week, but do you think it's closed all week? I wonder if there'd be any problems if you'd wait until after the holiday to get your E-2. |

The Embassy and the consulates will be closed on the 1,3,5,6,7,8,9 of October.
Same day service is NO LONGER AVAILABLE. It has not been available for more than 18 months now. It takes 2 days to get a visa. Drop your passport off on the 1st day before 4pm and pick it up the next business day after 1pm.
If you go on the 4th you will be there until the 10th.
I hope your boss is willing to pick up 6 days hotel and living expenses for you.
Maybe you should choose another day for your visa run.

It takes two days now doesn't it? Hand it in one day, pick it up the next? That would mean you hand it in on the 4th, but can't pick it up until the next open day, assuming that's the 8th... long visa run! |
