Hi,

I don't know if any ESL schools do this, or would condider it, But I am looking to start teaching after I have done a 10-12 week Korean language course.

Would I be able to secure a job and accomodation, with a delayed start date to accomodate the korean course?

I am currently living in Seoul, and marrying on October 3rd, the planning to do Korean language study.

Any solutions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Smile

Thanks,
Ken

You're from Canada, one might be tempted to think, eh?

Best of Luck.

I'd say its possible but might be hard to find.

Most places hire you to replace someone else. So when they move out, you move in. If you're not teaching right away then the previous teacher probably hasn't left, so there's no housing available.

There are exceptions though. If you really want to persue this then register with every single recruitment company you can lay your hands on and explain your situation. You might get lucky. A deal like that (free housing before you start working) would be easier to find if you were already in country and had contacts who might know a hagwan owner willing to deal with that.

It's a big risk for them though as it gives you a long time to find a better job. Maybe thats part of the reason you want to do it..

Your best bet would be to save up the money needed for a course first. Then you could jobhunt whilst in Korea and studying at the same time. Either that or work for a year then study for a bit.

Unless Scotland is now a part of Canada, be tempted again!

Thanks for the Luck,

Thanks Hyeon Een, I was wondering if this is a possibility. Maybe it is, Thanks.

I am already in Seoul and should be getting an F2 visa over the coming months.

Thanks to all replies,
God Bless,
Ken
