where can i get some reasonable priced sweater and coats and stuff. i'm about 110 cm round the chest and nothing iv'e seen so far in the korean department stores comes even close. i know thers itaewon but i dont want to be spending too much money for simple stuff, i don't really know that nandaemun is much better as i went there with a buddy and we couldn't even find size 12 shoes for him. |

I saw a shop in Seoul called BIG SIZE (I think) last year on Ariang TV.
Alternatively, there are a few stalls/shops in the Nampodong Market in Busan that are BIG SIZE. And I mean big size. Judging by the colors and horrible designs I'd say they are catering for "Russians". I'm sure that you can find a similar shop/stall in a market in Seoul that caters for Russian satorial elegance. Hope this helps. |

I came to Korea last year without winter clothes (coming from Bangkok) and it was terrible finding winter clothes here. I am 188 cm tall and was 80 kg (no more). I just got anything I could find in Itaewon. There is one small store near Macdonalds (toward the Noksapyong intersection about 30 feet from Macdonalds) that would sometimes have a decent sweater or sweatshirt. It is a nice store which doesn't concentrate on the 'hip-hop' theme like so many big man shops. Then I got my Winter Parka from a store with Army wear across the street from the Macdonalds and a little closer to the 'center' of itaewon. I saw the same parka at Namdaemon for the same price (both after haggling). Finally I went to America for Christmas and bought a few more sweaters, long underwear, and such.
As a big guy here, if you see something that is half way what you want, and for twice the price it should be, buy it. Department stores are useless. Good luck and hope those two places in Itaewon are OK.

That smacks of effort man. I'm size L or XL at home, I can't believe this country has managed to repel invaders for the last 5000 years given the size of them (well aside from the 50 years of japanese colonisation but we won't mention that right). Then again it's not like the japanese and chinese are that huge either. |

You should go to a Japanese castle. You always have to watch your head, and I am only 5'8''. Still, I bet those samurai could have kicked all our asses without even lifting a foot. |

Lifting one foot and a slight leap might have helped. |

Buy online.
JCPenney, Sears, LLBean, et al.
You'll pay a bit for standard shipping but the styles and sizes are western.
I'd also like to know where the big men's shop is in Seoul. I saw it one time around Namdaemoon but can't remember where exactly. |
