Hi,

I'd like to take a trip to Thailand and Vietnam after my year contract is up. Will I forfeit the return airfare paid for by my institute if I don't go home right away? What should I do with all of my stuff (I just want to take a backpack)?
thanks!

If you've had a good relationship with your boss there shouldnt be a problem....

Tell your boss about your plans. A cash payout might be possible, or ask for a return ticket that goes via Bangkok. If its more expensive you may have to pay the difference.

Send your things home surface mail. It takes about 6 weeks, but its quite cheap.
