My daughter wants to take her pet turtle to Nevada this January. Any experiences with taking pets through Incheon? I'm wondering how I'm going to get a turtle in water through security, unless I drain it before and fill it again after. Any ideas?

It's not airport security that will be your problem. It is the US customs service.
Turtles are NOT in the same pet categories as dogs and cats. Most turtles and other similar creatures are on one or more "protected species lists (cites list for example)" or are considered an ecological/biological hazard because of things like salmonella.
Check with them (or their website) for restrictions on bringing live animals back to the states with you.

I checked on it. Thanks. The problem I'm anticipating is bringing a turtle to Incheon when it lives in a liquid-- does anyone know if Korea has implemented the same restrictions on bringing liquids through security?

Flights to the states are restricted - you can't take it (liquids or gels) past security and it wll have to be dried again at the boarding gate. You can't take any liquids/gels on board in the passenger cabin.
(I assumed that you were taking a non-stop from Korea to the states.
You can get water on board the aircraft (mix hot and bottled cold to get luke-warm for your turtle). |

Thanks, Ttompatz. It would be easier just to give the turtle away, but she's a little girl!

There was a thread a few months ago about transporting fish on a plane. Maybe you could search it and see if the suggestions would work for a turtle.
But, this all seems quite traumatic for the poor turtle. |

Your turtle will be fine without water for a few hours. Replenish with drinking or tap water once on the plane. |
