I've got a grade 3 high school class that is just sooooooooo awesome. They're absolutely fucking amazing. If every class were like them you could offer me 1.0m / month and I'd gladly sign on the dotted line. Almost all of them can understand me using English as the sole language of instruction, and they're used to how I speak. Many of them speak and understand English better than my new middle school co-teacher. They know things about the world. They're creative. I have no disciplinary issues whatsoever apart from having to wake the odd genuinely over-worked one up. I teach them solo and we crack jokes about other teachers and put all sorts of crazy things into the dialogues we make up together on the spot. All of you university teachers out there, I'd gladly put them up against one of your classes, confident that they'd kick your students' asses. They represent the minority who've succeeded from within what's generally a very poor English education system and have developed an adequate basis to go really, really far in English.

And I get to teach them about 5 or 6 more times before they write the CSAT, come to school for another month just to kill time, and leave. If I had had them at the beginning of the school year, teaching them five times a week from a sound curriculum, I could have done so much more with them. It just sucks so much. Sorry I had to rant.
