Just in case anyone else is a fan over here, it seems that Cyptic and NCSoft are releasing their CoH game in Korea!
I was walking through Sadang station the other day and saw the video playing.

I'm not sure if Koreans would really go for this or not. I think they'll love the character creator but as for being a hero... I don't really think it is part of the culture.
I have only two questions about it htough:
1) Will they make me change my account to a Korean server (ie WoW) ifthey spot my IP?
2)Why the heck did they make it City of Hero... without the 's'?? |

This has been out for a while, I think. As far as I know, if you bought the US version of the game, you play on the US servers.
As an aside, when the K version was launched it caused a bit of resentment on the (mostly US) CoH forums. Apparently for the K market they reworked an old promo clip and replaced "Stateman" (the Captain America knockoff) with a Korean hero, who of course saves the day.
People actually talked about "cultural revisionism" in the game, bringing up the convenient "defeat" and eradication of the "5th Column" (the nazi knockoffs) just before the European launch. |

Interesting... I guess i missed all that.
I cruise the forums often but usually just stick to the CoV board now. |
