Anyone know where they sell them? What type (or name) of shop(s)?
PS: I don't want to buy one online.
thanks |

There are several stores in Itaewon. If you walk around the area, you'll find them. Look for posters on the wall/windows with rates. I usually just go in and ask which card is the best for calling X country. |

I stay well clear of Itaewon...I don't know what Skype is...and I don't use credit cards.
I was hoping for something as simple as a convenience store that carries them(?) No?
What's skype then?
PS: Need to call Thailand. |

It's an internet phone service owned by Ebay. You do need a PC, speakers, and a mic to use it.
What you do is download the program, install it, and off you go. If you're calling another computer that has skype installed, the call is free. If you're calling a land line, then you'll have to pay. It costs 10 Euros (14 CDN)to get set up with about 1000 anytime minutes to NA.
Doesn't get much cheaper than that. The quality is pretty decent. You'll occassionally get an echo, but you can always redail to get rid of the echo.
To call a Thai land line is 113W (yes, that's 113, which is like 12 cents/minute). Or if your friend has skype on their PC, then your call is free.

Follow the download links, and install. Very handy. |

Lots of those ajummas that sell newspapers and stuff in the tin sheds alongside the road often sell phone cards. Look in the window. There are a bunch of them selling cards outside the Seoul immigration office as well.
Lots of mom & pop corner stores carry phone cards too.
Look for a card with the Thai flag on it.
It is hard to be more specific without knowing where you are. |

If you're in the area, the convenience stores in COEX (Buy the Way, 7-11 and Family Mart) all sell phone cards. There W10,000. I think the best one, the one that gives you most time, is called the "Hello" card. |

FYI : The one I got is 50 mins to Thai for 10,000.
Good connection, but something tells me I coulda' gotten a better deal by shopping around. |
