After a fair bit of a stuff around, I have got a job at the Kinderschule Imae. Is there any info about this area that anyone can tell me. Also, I wil be the only ESL teacher in the school. Does anyone know how I can meet other westerners ie. a social group or whatever. I am 24 and would not like to spend my year bar hopping trying to find friends HAHA!

Any info would be great

Cheers,

Jane

If you mean Imae in Bundang, have no worries. It's one of the richer areas in South Korea -- no lie. Imae-dong itself isn't beautiful. It's mostly lined with apartments. You are just a subway stop away from shopping at Yatap, or better yet, Seohyun-dong is a stop or two in the other direction.

You'll be dealing with more rich parents who can likely speak English at up to a fair level. Expectations may be high, but I found the people I met in that area to be more Westernized than most.

You'll be fine.

Lots of foriegners live in Bundang. Your best chance at meeting them is probably that Irish pub in Seohyun (sorry, I forgot the name) or the cheapee bar called Monkey Beach, in the same area.

Bundang is gorgeous. I would love to live there. A bit boring for the single person at night, though.
