On Saturday, September 30, the K-1 kickboxing league will hold a tournament which will determine who'll participate in the Grand Prix (kind of like an annual world championships). Jerome Le Banner is slated to meet Choi Hong-man. Will Le Banner serve Choi the big cup of STFU that he's long overdue?
Despite his lack of kickboxing skills, Choi's size advantage (especially his longer reach) have made it difficult for fighters with superior skills to defeat him. However, Le Banner, in a match with Bob Sapp, had the much bigger, stronger man almost literally running for his life.
And speaking of K-1 ... You've heard of "racing girls," right? Then how about some "K-1 girls"?

Le Banner has slowed down but he hasn't lost an iota of his KO power. He will knock Frankenstein out. |

I hope LeBanner wips his Choi's elephantitist ass all over the ring.
But having said that, I thought Semmy Shult would have beat Choi easily as well. And Choi won that one, even if it was with the help of a close decision. |

Semmy seamed really slow and not putting everything into, when I saw the fight.
That Greek gave Choi a pasting so I imagine Jerome can do the same.
Fingers crossed anyway.

Are you referring to Sylvester "The Predator" Terkay? When they met in April of this year, he had Choi in very serious trouble at one point. Choi was busy protecting himself and looked to be on the verge of getting a standing-eight-count. |

I hope Choi Hong Man loses. It's embarrassing how Korea stands behind this guy and calls him a sportsman. He's just big and clumsy-looking. |

Jerome should win. I also thought that Semmy would put him to shame, but I was proven wrong. The fight with Semmy just proved what everyone thought about Semmy all along. If he was the same size as everyone else, he would only be a B level fighter. |

I think if the fight goes the entire distance, then LeBanner will win. Anything less than the full three rounds, and it's Choi. I don't think anybody has the power to knock Cromagnon man out, he's tough that way. No skills but he will take a beating. |

To tell you the truth...I hate the both of them!
LeBanner has been rocked quite a number of times. He seems to waste too much time feigning his punches. Everyone knows he is a lefty, so you have to change the game plan accordingly....every other fighter knows this... except for Choi a.k.a "the big pyungshin"!
Choi pyungshin is a big lug, clumsy, with no power in his punches,he gets away with holding and clutching his opponents so he can kick them or try to head butt them.
Be that as it may, Le Banner should come out on top...cause "Pyungshin" is the clumsier of the two fighters and doesn't know his left from his right!
In a perfect world, I would like to see the both of them knock each other out simultaneously! Let's cross our fingers.... |

Choi takes a better punch than Sapp. Never having seen Le Banner, I'll root for the Hanguk boy to win an ugly fight... |

It's not in Korea, so Le Banner might have a chance by decision. |

Whatever, he'd kick your ass. I wasn't that keen on the guy initially but have come round. he seems like a genuinely affable kind of chap and is a bit of a gentle giant. |

As I said in a post above, "The Predator" had him in big trouble. He can take a punch, that's for sure, but "The Predator" proved that it's possible to knock him out. Choi's superior reach makes it very difficult for anyone to get close enough to do real damage.

True. Sapp has a glass jaw ... and glass sides ... and he's got poor endurance ... and he can't fight ...
It looks like he's retired from K-1. I hope so.

He's a very sore loser. When he lost a decision to Remy Bonjasky, he acted like a big, spoiled brat.
Oh, and by the way, immediately after losing to Choi via a close and controversial decision (in Korea), Semmy Schilt asked for a rematch. It seems that he hasn't gotten it yet. I'm not surprised. |
