God loves everybody. And I am not a fundamentalist. I hate how the church judges people, emphasizes the love of money tells people they have to obey rules or else, acts hypocritical, etc. But people are people and you have to focus on the Lord. Actually I grew up Catholic but that church did some rotten things to me so I left it, went deep into sin, and then a few years later met a Christian at work who led me to Christ. He didn't preach at me, he just lived a kind of life I had never seen before. He went to church maybe once every few months because he hated hypocrites at church and he said he worshipped God at home. But he lived for God and I could tell there was something real and true about him. He lived set apart for God. Not a freak at all, just a real Christian. He led me to God. He was evangelical in the sense that his life was a witness to many people. He wasn't perfect, but he lived for God.
I was hoping to find a nice church in Masan with true Christians. No hype, just simplicity in Christ and people who worship in spirit and truth.

Yeah but some of the best churches are found in weird places. Best church I ever went to was in Grapevine Texas in a small little old building. 40 people there and boy did God move. Those people worshipped God and God showed up. You never know...

If you want a church service that doesn't feel like an infomercial, you probably should switch back to Catholicism during your stay.

Churches in Korea are cults. Especially yhe christian ones. I once, by mistake, went to a presbyterian church. The pastor or preacher or whatever they call their priests spent the whole time talking about MONEY MONEY MONEY. You should probably switch back to Catholicism as its really the only valid Christian church. The prostestant denominations are frauds.

Yeah, I heard they are into the money thing. I heard they copy from America and American churches are mostly all about money. Except for the remnant and those who are not deceived by the trickery of men.

I guess I will stick to worshipping God at home.

As for switching to Catholicism, that doesn't make sense. I am not into religion: I am into a relationship with God. The only denomination I adhere to is Following Christ. I read the Bible myself and do my own studyng. I do not let a religion tell me how to live. I let the Bible and the Holy Spirit. Religion stinks. It is about having your own walk with Christ. Anything else is boring, vain, and foolishness. The Catholic church also has too many unscriptural positions. It never did anything for me but teach me external nonsense. It taught me nothing about repentence and being saved. It is a sham.

The line from Christ to the Catholic Church is pretty obvious: Peter is the rock Christ built his church on and Peter leads to the catholic Church. So whatever that is worth to you...but you are probably setting yourself up for a spell in hell for rejecting the clear path to Christ. Christ didnt say "just do what you want", did he?

I didn't say i do what I want. I do what (or I try to do and sometimes fail) what He wants. You are taking that scripture wrong. Jesus built the church upon Peter's revelation that He (Jesus) was the Christ. Even if He did mean that He built the church upon Peter it doesn't mean that the Catholic church is THE church and if you don't attend the Catholic church you are going to hell. I was a Catholic for 18 years and realized I was going to hell because I was a sinner. The Catholic church taught me nothing other than external nonsense. It never taught me the Bible. I met a Christian at work who modeled the Lord and I got saved from his witness. He was not a Catholic. Now I have a relationship with God. I do obey Him now but of course fail at times. Alot of times. But when I do I wipe myself off and get up and go on. I am going to heaven because of what Jesus did for me on the cross and because I have faith in Him, not a religion. Religion stinks. God is not a religion. The Catholic church is a religious system that promotes religion not true salvation thru repentance and faith in the Lord. The Catholic church is run by religious spirits and people who do not know God. There may be some in it who are true Christians, but most are not.
You can't be saved by going to a church. You are saved by grace thru faith.

I think there's Quakers and Unitarians here. They're pretty chill.
I attended Quaker meeting for a couple of years when I was a kid. My dad was boffing a Quaker at the time and he thought it'd be good for us kids to see some religious stuff. Anyway, Quakers are super cool. I hated it as a kid, and never went as an adult, but if you're into the god stuff, I'd recommend them.
They don't have a preacher and they don't have a sermon. They sit around in a big circle and read and pray or whatever they're into (no video games or PMPs tho, sorry kids) and if anybody has anything to say they stand up and say it. There are occasional songs I think. If anybody starts preaching overtly they get taken out back and set on fire. Their sorry flesh makes for a nice after-church BBQ. After an hour or so, everybody gets up and eats and drinks coffee and talks about sports and work and their kids and stuff, just like a regular church.
I'm pretty much damned myself, and happy to be, and I don't like getting out of bed on Sundays, but if I was looking for a mellow, respectful community of like minded people, I'd go Quaker for sure.
Google 'quakers in korea', or post something here, and you can find something in Seoul.
Unitarians are pretty laid back too I think.
Good luck to you dude.

PS I'm kidding about the cannibalism and preacher-murder. If they did that sort of thing, I'd probably still go.

Amen~!

A personal relationship with Christ is far apart from religion or denomination. A personal relationship is believing Jesus was who he said, following his teachings and believing in the bible and its principles. A personal relationship is a love for Christ. Wink
