|
|
This Saturday afternoon, upon exiting Bucheon Station, I was approached
by two Immigration dicks who asked me to produce some ID. I responded
by showing them my ARC. I wonder if there is a nation wide wave of spot
checks going on at stations of major cities. Has anybody heard of such a
thing? |

No but I do know they do sweeps around Bucheon looking for illegal factory workers. Last year a Canadian acquaintance of mine got picked up in the sweep. He had unfortunately overstayed his Visa by several years and was working a lot of privates. They lucked out picking him up, it even made the papers. Lots of investigation into privates in the Bucheon area afterwards. Maybe they're hoping to catch another teacher doing privates. |

Overstayed by several years? Even if he didn't get caught while in Korea, what did he think would happen at the airport?
What did they do to him anyway- do you know? |

Ever four years or so there's an amnesty. Lots of illegals go home then. |

Immi checkers were around Cheonan train station. A Sergeant Stedenko asked for I.D. in the restaurant. He followed me in figuring I was ducking into hiding. He said, 'I'm sorry, but I'm immigration. Can I see your I.D.?'. A couple of weeks later, same thing, same place. He knew me, but was just being Segeant Stedenkoish about it. He had a squad of helpers. Two young guys in case the target runs and needs chasing. And a middle aged guy dressed in black wearing gloves and cracking his knuckles while frowning. Good times. |

This squad, led by sharp-eyed Sergeant Stedenko, hung out on the plaza in front of the train station like it was football and they were running interference on the interlopers. They have a ball. They were looking for a man called rothkowitz, they said, a cynical poster from Dave's. |

Having been hit by a cossacks whip as a child he knew the way to go.
He had been throwing small brown bottles since he was so tall.
He took up a position of the utmost detestation. |

No.
The imaginary Immigration guys should've tested you for hallucinogenic drugs.
You made this up didn't you, Alex? |

Rothie, baby, you're an arid, uninhabitable fella. But you write nice poetry. Like lifting a seashell to hear the sound of the sea, I can hear the wind between your ears. Woooooo...... |

Before boarding the ship for the legs of New York...
I sprinted back to give you a kick as you lay outside the bar from which I swindled you of your last kopeck. |

Do you work in a Kindergarten? Recess, Roth. Nobody's peeing on your shoe now. So let's knock off the 'ring around the Rosie'. It's Sunday. The grownups are trying to rest. Peace out. |
