Gang,

I am needing to start conferencing over the internet...anyone know of good software/hardware?

I use MSN Messenger (simply because almost everyone I chat with has it), and a Logitech 4000 cam....not the greatest set-up, I know.

Anything (program) that can increase the size of the image (at least twice what MSN's capabilities are)?

Shoosh,

Ryst

http://www.netmeeting.com is pretty good.

I never use MSN (so no clue how big they are).. but Yahoo has some decent size capabilities to me anyhow.

It is possible to change the size of the image in MSN. I am not aware if you are aware of that or if you want an image that is larger than MSN's largest size.

I'm aware...and was looking for a picture 2 or 3 times the size.

Will try the link TB suggested.

I use Eyeball Chat (http://www.eyeballchat.com/) to talk to my father every week. It's a little old and outdated, with no update in sight. However, it works fine for me. MSN has never worked well for me, especially since my father's still running Windows 98. Whenever I tried to have a video chat, I was informed that since our operating systems didn't match, it was impossible.

The downside to Eyeball chat is that it claims to unite MSN, Yahoo, and AIM (i.e. you can log into all three at one time). It doesn't. It used to partially work for me, but hasn't worked in ages. However, you have to create a seperate Eyeball chat ID anyways, so you can always see when someone's online. You can resize the picture to a size that's more than acceptable for myself.

It's free and does the job. Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but it works for me.

If anyone's got a better program, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

CC,

I used Eyeball chat about a year ago...didn't really care for it. I had problems with it. While doing a little searching, I found this brief description of some programs on this site.

Just as a note...

anyone thinking of getting a webcam should get a "Lebeca". They have about the best images I've seen.

I have both a Lebeca and Logitech 4000...the latter seems better (though I would think that picture quality depended on internet speed).

I've contacted my computer department with this question, maybe they'll have some input.

I need to buy a webcam to video chat with my family, they just bought a cheap logitech quickcam chat.

Are Lebeca webcams good these days. Where can I find sample pics?

What webcam make/model would you recommend for under 50000won?
