Which ones? I haven't come across that problem in a while except for pcpitstop.com
My solution has been to use IE as little as possible except as required. If you don't want to use IE at all, you might try Opera which has an 'emulate IE' and 'emulate Mozilla' feature. |

| try Opera i have no problems seeing any korean site, but have to admit my girlfriend does not like it but that is due to the tabs (which i love) plus computers scare her. another plus is it takes less than half the time to load as firefox plus it reloads from where you last were. mate opera is the best i have used |

Yes, Opera is probably better.
For a quick fix, for sites that look weird in FF, you can use ie tabs
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/
and open those sites using ie within FF. |

King of Kwangju - thats a sweet add on! Thanks for that.

Personally, I find Opera much worse than Firefox for rendering stuff. I've recently stopped using Opera -as much as I love it- cause it's just so annoying a lot of the time. Firefox on the other hand, renders most stuff perfectly except Korean websites. |

why don't some sites work in firefox, but work in IE?
there are 2 basic reasons. firstly, standardised html is not always followed by a browser maker. IE has created a lot of html codes that aren't recognised by other browsers. these are non standard html codes.
the second reason is because browsers simply render sites differently.
very few koreans use firefox. actually, they're forced to use IE because all the big sites don't work in firefox. internet banking and other stuff doesn't work either because of active x and stuff like that ... so it's a catch 22.
finally, many korean websites are built based by companies who use design templates. those templates are created for IE and aren't cross browser compliant.
korean sites like to 'add' extra features to your browser, like spyware, adware, tracking cookies, etc ... and they're kind enough not to tell you about it. they'll even change your homepage for you and not let you change it back.
that kind of evil shit can't be done in opera, safari or firefox. so webdesigners don't like those browsers.
i use FF and i have the IE rendering plugin, which is very handy.
btw, i play warrock, and i can't do anything in FF. i have to switch to IE. |

| There are two extensions that you can add to help you out with viewing difficult "only ie compliant" pages. They are 'ieview' and 'ietab'. Check them out. One is for opening the page in a seperate ie window while the other switches the rendering engine in Firefox to the ie one. |
