So, I'm watching a dubbed Empire Strikes Back on KBS2 and wondering how the voice actor does Yoda's voice. I know in the Italian dub, Yoda was given a Sardinian accent. Do they do something similiar in the Korean dub? Does he speak with 사투리? Does he reverse word order?
Rather than sounding mildly cartoonish, I can't tell any distinctive features of his speech, but then my Koreans rather bad.

Chewbacca wasn't dubbed. Apparently, Shyriiwook is similar to 한국말, so dubbing wasn't necessary....

Uh, ok. I was watching it, too. Yesterday was Star Wars. Today was Empire Strikes Back. I'm assuming tomorrow is Return of the Jedi. Chusok and the Star Wars Trilogy. Who would have thought?

You lost me at Shyriiwook

Hmmm... if you think about it, Yoda-speak and Korean have a similar grammar.

Does anyone actually know about this (the op question)? When I saw the most recent Star Wars, the subtitles were up on the top right of the screen going top to bottom. My Korean wasn't nearly good enough back then to keep up with the text. I couldn't even figure out if it was supposed to be read left to right or right to left. But I was very curious about how they'd translate Yoda's speech.

i went to one of the movies a year or so ago and asked a korean about whether yoda's word order was all funky in the korean subtitles. she told me that it wasn't.... I have no idea about his dubbed accent or any of that though.

it's kinda comforting to know that i'm not the only one who wonders about this stuff though.
