I am currently paying pension and as a British citizen cannot claim this back at the end of my contract.
Can I claim this money back when I reach retirement age and if so do I have to work here for so many years to be eligible? |

I was wondering the same thing. I'm a kiwi and I paid into the pension for my first 2 years and have been told many different things from many different people (some conflicting information from people that work at the same govt. acency )
One thing is for sure, Australians, kiwis and Brits don't get back ANYTHING while in Korea AND EVEN when we leave...(it all comes down to inter-Govt. agreements between countries). America and Canada have some bilateral agreement with Korea that we don't have.......
but as for our literal retirement, and whether we can claim it back then...I don't know about that. I doubt it, but, then again, these laws seem to change all the time. |

Hi, Bad news/good nes
To those Brits - Bad news, no, you cannot withdraw your pension as cash when leaving Korea. Good news, you can transfer Korean pension to UK pension. This changed in the last year. So when your old and gray, Korea will pay you for your time worked.
Don't know about Kiwi or Aussies. |
