I recently switched to another ISP. LG Xspeed. It was because of a promo. We don't pay what we should for a period, or whatever.
Problem is, my internet browsing speed goes to next to zero if I use uTorrent or Azureus concurrently. Both programs are set at the defaults. I have installed the TCPIP 4662 program which defeats the SP2 connection changes. No difference.
The great thing is that moving from a LAN to a modem connection means I'm full reachable and have no connectivity issues. All my downloads are working great. I just want to be able to surf when I'm downloading.
Running:
3.0 dual core
XP with SP2
XP firewall (switched from free Zonealarm in an attempt to solve the issue....didn't work).
AVG free edition
Any ideas?
As I've said, it's not a bandwidth issue. I did various speed tests. Without the torrent program running I was getting up to 5mbps. When running uTorrent it went to less than 600kbps. Meaning really slow web browsing. I mean roughly 30 seconds to load one page. |
