A friend was sort of worried that all his time in Korea as a teacher might not qualify him for any job back in Canada. I suggested teaching experience, a university degree, and some computer/tech savvy makes one a natural choice for jobs as a corporate trainer. Basically, companies need people to visit various sites and teach employees (either their own or their clients) how to use their product. You teach people how to use voice mail systems, photocopiers, whatever. Hint, learn how to use power point.

It's a good white collar jobs, could involve some travel, networking with people which might lead to other career opportunities, etc. If you're young, yeah you'll have to start at the bottom and you're not going to walk into a 60K a year job, but it's a good career path.

Do a search on Monster.com under "corporate trainer" and it will give you an idea of what jobs are out there and what skills you need.

I've got IT qualifications and was thinking of doing something similar myself.

When I got back from a year in Korea, I landed an excellent job as a software trainer. Do not sell yourself short when negotiating salary, particularly if the job requires travel, as many do. Granted, I had a fair amount of IT experience, including software training, but I was offered $52,000 US - got it up to 58k plus additional time off.
On the other hand, this corporate stuff can suck sometimes... :>)

Then again, 60K a year minus taxes isn't a whole helluva lot. With an MA and a decent university job, you could probably pull that in and take much more time off for vacation. The people I know, for example, that are totally out on their own are pulling ball park 100K+/year. Depends on where you want to live, I guess, and how fast you'd like to retire.
