I live in Nowon Gu; have two dogs. I just got my second one, an active adolescent mini-Schnauzer, as a rescue dog a week ago. It will take a while before I can train her to be reliable off-leash; in the meantime she could really use a place to run free and get the ya-ya's out. ANY chance anyone knows of either a real dog park in Seoul (jackpot would be in Nowon Gu), or if not, maybe just a well-fenced dog-friendly park Daisy could have a good run in? Thanks!

I don't know if Koreans and dog ownership have advanced that far. Given motorcycles on the sidewalk, I would think all of Korea is leash free.

Well, thanks for reading my post...I think I'm going to try the off-topic discussion to see if I can get any more hits. I'm really hoping someone out there who loves dogs may have stumbled across a dog park.

I live on a mountain in Anyang that has lots of paths and different areas where I let my dog run free. I have had the occassional problem with other dogs nipping at mine, but most of them are friendly. There are not a lot of dogs on the mountain, so it's not really a worry. PM me and i'll give you details!!!

Thanks, Moptop, but what I need is a fenced in area. I have two dogs. My first one is trained to be off-leash, and I've been hiking the trails on my local mountains with him since we got here four years ago. My new dog is frisky and energetic; I don't dare to let her off-leash yet until I can do some obedience training with her in an enclosed area. It may take some months working up to that point. (I'm going to be using an alternative method of training called clicker training that uses positive reinforcement exclusively. It's slower to begin with, but a lot more fun for the dog. So it'll take a while.) I just don't want to take the risk of losing her.

Have you heard of the Bauhaus in Sincheon? It's a great cafe designed for dogs and their owners to mingle in an indoor space. They do have an online homepage with map and directions. I tried to search for it on Google for you, but I can't remember the spelling 'BowHouse'/'BauHouse'/'Bauhaus'... CAn anyone remember.

Whoa - that would be fun! Doing a search with dog Sincheon cafe I came up with this place, http://www.bigbowl.co.kr/big.htm

Problem is I can't understand it because the site's all in Korean. BUT it does have pictures of people with dogs on leash, so I'm thinking this might be it! Does it sound right? Oh boy oh boy I'm getting excited!

Doesn't look like Big Bowl's the place after all. I found the phone number on the website, called them, and with my limited Korean ascertained that dogs are not welcome. Sad

That's funny - lucky they don't have dog on the menu.

Seriously, the Bow House does exist. I still can't find the website, but have found some images on here: (can you see the thumbnails with dogs - click on those - perhaps you can try and contact the poster to find out where it is exactly)

Sorry, the location is near Hongik, not Sincheon. It's near the station if I recall.

I looked at the pictures, thanks to your link. Very cool place. I'll sign up for a flickr account, and try to contact the poster through a comment. Thanks for the good lead!
