The reaction of Democrats back in 1983 to the Gerry Studds scandal was more in keeping with its position in this cultural divide. Massachusetts Rep. Studds had had sex with a 17-year-old male page, to which Democrats merely tsk-tsked. Some argued that the relationship was consensual, so no harm, no foul. Studds was re-elected for six more terms and must be glad that he left Congress before it became a firing offense just to send sexually charged instant messages to former pages.

When did the Dems get so puritanical???? Answer: Right before an election.

Nice work.

I'm not defending Foley's behavior, I'm simply pointing out the screaming hypocrisy on the Democrat's side......

or was that not made perfectly clear when I titled this thread "Democrat's...."

Oh paragon of virtue, how do you feel about he Democrat's reaction to Studd's 83 affair with an underage page?????

Since which time, the party has hardly made a mention of sexual relations with young government employees....

I'm guessing Monica was just asking for a cigar in the White House.......?

And if you deflected THAT story as inconsequential (search your lib-brains deeply)....then you had better SHUT UP about this non-scandal.

Why?

Cause there is no cum stain, no sex took place.

I am by no means a liberal, in the narrow sense you americans define it. I am not even american, so don't go spouting your faux news catch-all phrases. It may impress the lower reaches of repub voters, but not I. Moreover, the case of Studd is simply a smokescreen to hide the fact that a group of GOP legislators and staffers knew about this. Nevertheless, its deplorable, there you go. Anyhow, lets get back to your blase treatment of the potential molestation of minors. Simple fact is you are attempting to blow away (pardon the pun) this issue with the red herrings of Lewinsky and Studd. Either you support a full investigation of this matter, or you are nothing more than a NAMBLA-enabling stooge who would do the world a favour by blowing his brains out. Filthy nonce.

why thanks for teaching me what nonce meant.

Why not shut up about things that happen within America? You don;t find us provincials giving a flying f u ck as to what happens on your cloudy isles... (or are you a canuck?)

your obsession with any and all things America HINTS LOUDLY at your inability to live where you'd like.

Happy trails.... musselman.....

How about your obsession with jonny frog?

http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=67689&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

or your obsession with Europe as a whole?

http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?p=911089&highlight=#911089

or your obsession with jerry?

http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?p=885099&highlight=#885099

There's surely more of you complaining about countries you've never been too but I don't have time......

Maybe if non Americans talking about America offends you so much you could set a shining example and not comment about those who aren't American or Israeli.

Yep...no more posts about Islam for you! How will you fill the evenings?

Confused

The dude has posted on hardly any threads related to America. This is the first I can think of. If he's obsessed with America, then I must be really crazy about Thailand due to my posting on a Thaskin thread.

It is "conservatives" like you that that make liberals feel superior and arrogant about their own intellect when matched up with the right-wing. I put "conservative" in quotations because Barry Goldwater would be rolling over in his grave if I tied you with him.

edit: corrected grammar.
