I did something really, really dumb last night. I was chatting with Guru Sister on MSN, wanted to show her some of my recent home in Korea photos, but I was too lazy to go hunting for them on my hard drive. So what did I do? I gave her the link to a thread on Dave's where I'd posted them. No sooner did I hit the return key than I realised what a massively foolish thing I'd just done. She passed the URL around, and now the entire Clan Guru is lurking Dave's. And of course they know my username. Rolling Eyes

4,000+ posts. God knows there's some raunchy or self-incriminating things I've said in the past 2 years, or things they're apt to take the wrong way. I'm just dead, and that's all there is to it. Dead Guru.

Don't drink & chat. Sad

(Hi, Dad! Wink )

I think the consideration you've shown by remembering to post her name in blue should make up for any off-color pennings of the past.

A sister? If you won't turn to the dark side, perhaps... she... will!

YOU NEVER TALK ABOUT YOUR FAMILY! IT'S LIKE YOU'RE EMBARRESSED BY THE LOT OF THEM! IT'S LIKE YOU CAME TO KOREA JUST TO ESCAPE THEM! KOREANS HAVE A WORD FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU!

Bool Hyo Ja!

(Which I think means "he who burns the yeast ruler" or something.)

My fam reads Psychedelic Kimchi (and so should you), and my email address has my name listed as Tiberious Sparkles.

What, me worry?

Great. So now I'm worried that I haven't talked about my family. Thanks for that. Really, it's a no-win situation. Blab about them -- I've violated family confidences and I'm busted. Say nothing about them -- I'm ashamed of them and I'm busted.

P.S. Koreans have a word for you, too. Twisted Evil

I just got a PM from a poster wondering why I'm worried about my family seeing my posting history. (The PM title was "Your Father", which scared me for a split second until I saw the poster's name! Surprised ) Anyway, it's not so much that I've disgraced myself or dishonoured them, and even if I had, it's the internet and things are semi-anonymous here. It's simply that one writes differently and avoids certain topics if they think their parents & relatives are reading it as opposed to strangers they don't know and aren't ever likely to. Specifically, I would have avoided mentioning details about women and booze.

I don't get it. If Jongno's a guru, then surely pappa guru is a swai or something... chillin' people, right?

Tell me, is sis a belly dancer, by chance? Given the family lineage and all...
