I live in Nowon Gu; have two dogs. I just got my second one, an active adolescent mini-Schnauzer, as a rescue dog a week ago. It will take a while before I can train her to be reliable off-leash; in the meantime she could really use a place to run free and get the ya-ya's out. ANY chance anyone knows of either a real dog park in Seoul (jackpot would be in Nowon Gu), or if not, maybe just a well-fenced dog-friendly park Daisy could have a good run in? Thanks! |

Sounds like your place is a zoo! Why not have everyone bring their dogs over? |

Huh. A dog party. Not a bad idea! But I do wish I could find a place where Daisy could really let go and run to her heart's content. |

We are in Nowon-gu also, in Hagye. We take our dog down to the river when the water is down and let her run in the sand. There is lots of open space, no people down there, and she has a great time. |

And is that adorable boxer your dog? The airedale who is my avatar is not either of my dogs.
Oh, maybe I will break down and just let her loose somewhere like along the Han. I'm just hesitant because it's possible she could run a long time..but she is pretty good on recall.
I'm in Jung Gye, by the way. We're neighbors! If your dog likes to play with other dogs, maybe we could arrange a play date some time? |

Have you considered using a public school yard? They're usually fenced in, so you may have to get permission to use it.
Another option is to ask one of the local vets about any leash-free zones around Seoul. They should know of any that exist.
Good luck. I know what's it like to have a dog that needs space. My half-dalamatian-half-black-lab monster back home uses three soccer fields to get his kicks and stretch his limbs (as if our house wasn't big enough). |

People go jogging, power-walking, and soccer-playing all the time in public school fields. Go for it! |

Little Laura,
Yes, that is our dog in the avatar. My wife and I would love to make some play dates. We have found a few dogs in our area for Bina to play with, but we are always looking for more.
PM me and we can set up some time when we can all meet.
Peace |
