From the little I remember from sunday school, love, compassion, forgiveness, turning the other cheek, etc, this is the crux of the message Christ delivered to his followers. These Amish people lose five of their own, little girls, and still turn out to morn the death of the man who killed them. That is commendable, no scrap that, these people are surely a step above most of us. I feel happy and ashamed at the same time reading this. BTW, I am not Christian in the slightest.

I've always figured that the ability to do that would lessen the grief. That some people have that measure of control is great.
