I think we should have a seperate thread about this on GD forum. Many of us want to stay out of the snakepit over on CE.

Is the policy that strict about "one thread, one subject"?

"One thread to rule them all!!".......... Laughing

I PMed her about it and I accept her reasoning and decision for lockage, but maybe now that she has seen the vipers slither in she'll have a change of heart and let this one squeak by.

Anyone have a "War Clause" in their contract? I do, says I get a flight home immediately, not contingent upon having put in a certain amount of time. I'm sure it's in many contracts, but I kinda chuckled when I first read that part, but now I'm reviewing that clause, and not with a smirk...

...I kinda do chuckle at the thought of tens of thousands of teachers that would be too broke to leave the country, and hagwons that won't pay the emergency flight. I suppose SK can just give those teachers that can't afford the flight, a rifle or something to protect themselves.

So what would you do if they decided not to honour your 'war clause'? Take it to the labour board?

Doesn't it say something like "if war breaks out, whether declared or not"?

I'd expect that you have to wait for that to happen.

i'm still thinking about the north collapsing. I've always wanted to meet a North Korean girl. have her dress up in her uniform and tell me that I'm imperialistic swine. oh, that'd be good.

it's getting way ahead of things, but can you imagine a bunch of refugee norkbots wandering through the streets of seoul? we would be like full-on ALIENS to them. the green kind, not the kind with accents.

I have also PM'd nambucaveman and stated that a thread on this subject belongs in the GD forum.

I think this is the most important and relevant topic to those who may be considering a move here and those who are already living here.

Hopefuly this thread will remain open.

As for me, I have registered with my embassy, transfered ??,000, 000 won today and have a few grand in cash on hand. I don't think it wil escalate into a military conflict quickly (if it ever does) but I am going to be ready if it happens.

The Won is going to go down faster than soju glides down an adjoshies gullet.

on the short term, the won is going to f*cking crash, right? if anybody is choosing between transfering today or tomorrow, they should transfer today*

*I don't know anything about monetary rates, but this seems like common sense, right?

Depends. If you think that it will be a temporary fall, then soon will be a good time to buy undervalued won and SK stock. I'd probably want some dollars or Euros on me though.

Ok folks, let's just stay calm...stay calm...Last thing we need is a mad dash through a forum with posters stumbling and stepping on each other, attacking Mods like they were N.K. itself.

NOW we need to stay calm and collected, work together, set up triage and support counseling services and one-shot 5 cups of coffee. YEEE-HAWWWW!
