Foreigners used to go to the Wa Bar near Ori station when I lived near there 2 years ago.
But, basically, it's a suburban black hole for fun. |

Wa Bar in Suji closed months ago... I lived in Suji for a year and battled that problem the entire time I was there... not a goddamn thing to do there... needless to say, I am glad to be gone and so will you when your contract is over. |

You're bored in SUJI? SUJI is a carnival of excitment compared to where I'm stationed.
In Korea it's up to you to make your own fun. I'd suggest buying a car and exploring the country. |

I've been in Suji for about five months, and can't complain. Yeah, the Wa closed so we're hunting for a new stomping ground. Often us waygooks will go to the Beer Hunter downtown. I agree that you have to look for your own activities. I know a few people who take Kumdo lessons. I bought myself a bike and pedal through Bundang on to Seoul once in while. There's hikes into Suwon. If you need to, catch a bus into Seoyeong and hit up Monkey Beach. There's lots of foreigners there. |

Just hang out and meet locals. If they're not red-faced and yelling "YA!" at you,
they're likely to feed you and get you hammered. ooh, and take you to the noraebang. |

Ok moving to Suji in about a month...Is it really that bad??? I'm more into the the culture and more traditional or interesting spots. As long as I get my coffee and occasional bars I would be fine. Anything like that in Suji? Also regarding the transport. How far is it from the railway? |

15-20 minutes by bus (they take the long way round or 3-4 stops on the subway.
That will get you to Seohyun station ( the irish bar and the monkey bar). Lots of expats kicking around here. |

There aren't any bars? restaurants? anything fun?
I already signed the contract so I am stuck for a year...anyone want to form our own clique and get the partying started? No...i guess its tv and movies for me for a year...is there at least a liquor store somewhere? |

I went to Suji once. Went to meet a girl for a date. The taxi driver said "I am gangsta. Gangsta! I am killa!"
That was about the most exciting thing about Suji for me.
Oh yeah, the girl. The only exciting thing about her is that she pronounced "insurance" as "insurance-ee."
I noticed that there wasn't much to do in Suji. |
