Last time I was looking for an apartment in Seoul, there was the housing forum on English Spectrum, there was Seoul Classified magazine, there were three or four realtor's sites in English, but now it seems to have all gone to hell, and I've only been gone a year! There aren't many housing topics on Dave's or Craig's List Seoul, and the only realtor site I could find was Eden.

Where are people going nowadays for rental listings?

I know this sounds so obvious but how about to a real estate agent (부동산) in the area you are planning to live in and check it out.....

Poke around Korean portal sites like Naver. Or Google (or Naver) 부동산, 아파트, or whatever.

Stuff for Bundang: http://www.oneroomhouse.org/

I was hoping to get info now while I'm still at home rather than once I get to Korea, though if I don't have a place by then I won't have a choice and I will hunt for some real estate agencies and just knock on doors.

I don't have Korean on this keyboard and I can't read or write it anyway, so had trouble at Naver.

I'm thinking of calling touist info once I get to Korea, but again, I was hoping to have some leads before then.

Check out this place from the link above. 75,000,000 won
jeonsae or 5,000,000 won + 550,000/mon. wolsae.

Nice.

It says only 8 pyong, but it looks way bigger.

I looked into this a few months ago - the places look nothing like they do in the pictures, the prices and conditions are not remotely as advertised. Beware!

Well, yeah, buyer beware, and it's always good to check out the places.

I've seen a lot of the places in www.oneroomhouse.org, since friends and coworkers lived in them. THey're roughly the same, although the color schemes are different. The pics often show the place with more furniture than you'd get if you move in. The monthly costs can vary, too, depending on your deposit. The ones listed on the site are a good ballpark figure. If you're coming to Korea for the first timek, or if you don't have money saved for a deposit, you might be out of luck. But it's still a good site, and informative at least. I put out a call elsewhere for different websites like this.
