I'd like to just throw something into the mix here.

We live in an age of 'fear'. We all know that. Whoever actually initiates this fear is another issue, but we all know it is largely driven by the media and is used to induce the masses into, what I call the '1984 Syndrome'.

At this point I'd like to say that fear results from being confronted with the unknown. It could be said that is why, shortly after 9/11, many Westerners feared anyone wearing a scarf on their head.

In the summer of '84, as a ten year old, I exhibited this kind of fear. I was so concerned and fearful that I may not get to go on summer vacation with my family because USSR and the USA would have a nuclear war.

While some concerns are justified, such as global warming, other 'fears' need to be checked immediately- For the sake of the children and humanity.

Sounds corney, but think about it. How many children, especially in Korea are going to bed with fear in their minds over N. korea. Fear that is triggered by adults that get on the media band wagon and communicate their fear to the children. Fear that makes our kids scared beyond clear thinking.

We need to step back and take a realistic look at the N. korean events. It is only harmful to sit on these forums and predict invasions, evacuations and nuclear wars. Such talk is sepculative, unobjective and eventually falls on the ears of the children.

For the sake of those around us that are too young to take an objective look at the events of the last weeks- Let's turn our backs from the subjective 'unknown' that produces fear.

In conclusion, the 'war-mongers' in the White House haven't mentioned invasions into N.Korea. There is nothing in N.Korea that the world needs, such as oil. There is no religious tension between N.Korea and the rest of the world, such as Muslim vs. Jew. N.Korea has a history of tantrums when the purse strings are tight and nobody wants to listen. These are facts that we can be sure of- facts that will help us and our children sleep better tonight.

Just exactly which children in SK are going bed worried about war with the North? They're too busy being told about how their pure blood will prevent any conflict.
