So today I was walking home and a few of my students (middle school boys) were out playing basketball and said hello to me. Over in the corner there were a couple of old guys out enjoying some soju who started screaming 'russian person come here! How much, how much?' while I was talking to my students.

Taken aback by the situation I screamed out 'don't talk to me that way' in korean to get a few nasty comments hurled back. I really don't want to be hurling insults across the small town I live in. Anyone got any better ways of handling these situations? Aiish.

Just tell them to puck off and give the finger. Then get out a south Korean flag and start to burn it. Then pull out a North Korean flag and sing the anthem (spl).

Or just say you have a bigger slong than they ever had.

Ban mal ha ji ma say yo - dont talk to me in low form

While it would be nice. I do work in a public school so (not sound snobbish) but I do work in a public school so I have to watch what I say and do.

Maybe your body will also be riddled with a million bulletholes in the process. Confused

I'm thinking of checking out the DMZ soon, but I don't like my roommate THAT much. Very Happy

In any case how does one say "I teach your kids!"? That'd be what I would say.

Yeah, well. I do like her, but not well enough to take 1,000,000 bullets from an AK-47 for her.

She understand this and is OK with that.

Crois, I'm thinking if I went to the DMZ with you that somehow we'd BOTH get deported. Laughing

CLG, as a man who sees koreans call his wife all manner of hateful things because she is with a causasian, I really feel for you. I usually lose it and get in the pathetic persons face. I understand that this is not desirable for you.

Sadly, short of leaving this sewer, I have no advice.

Perhaps in another 6000 years korea will catch up to 1920's America.

Perhaps not...

this is shameful. what did they boys do? were they embarrassed?

in your shoes, i'd like to say something about how those men might be able to tell the difference between a prostitute and a school teacher if only they weren't high on soju.
