im working on my first job hunt. I was told that a lot of public schools start IN march, and asked if i could possibly come to korea a little before (last week of february).

ideally, i'd like to come to korea after march 3rd, so that i can be in my hometown for Black History Month (all of february), and Ghana Independence Day (on march 3rd).

my question: if i DONT come until march 4th or after like i want to, i'll still be able to get a job, yeah? it'll just be a hogwan?

Unless there's a drastic change in the near future, there will be plenty of public school jobs still available then. If not then, almost certainly you could get an April 1st start. The kicker is, because you will miss your orientation, they might want you to already have teaching experience or be in Korea (I don't actually know this, I'm just wondering)

Since you will be a late start, if you don't have teaching experience or have never been to Korea, you might want to skip the public school route in the beginning until you get some confidence living here. Hagwons hire just about all-year round.
