There are now several options other than real TV we can use. The first one of course is bit-torrent technology, which I think is the best so far. It allows us to watch TV shows, movies, download music, or games, audio books, you name it, you can get it. This option is totally free!

Also, TVU player is a program where you download it and you get like over 40 channels! Amazing program, hope it will stay around for a while. Free too!

Does anyone know of other options? We can make this thread a useful thread simply dedicated to watching TV over the internet... |

There's another network I've used similar to TVU, only it's purely P2P so there aren't as many 'standard' channels available. Check out www.sopcast.com, you might find something you like.
If you want to watch NFL games via TVU and Sopcast, http://streamednfl.blogspot.com is listing broadcasts of specific games every weekend.
The place I go to keep up with tv shows is www.tvtorrents.com. However, this site has been up and down recently. You also need an invitation to join.
Although I've never tried it, some on this site swear by www.streamtvnow.com.
Thanks to brento for making a one-stop thread for people trying to watch TV online. Mods, maybe this could become a sticky or link to the TV-watching sticky on the Tech forum?? |
