hey, I'll be in Korea in a bit and I'm bringing my laptop with my from the states. What are the essentials I need there to convert the power. My friend was recently in Italy and she had a power converter but still fried her digital camera. Do you need more than just a power converter? Can I buy a power converter at the airport and if so, even at the ungodly time that they will fly me in at in the morning?

Are there any power converters with multiple sockets for more than one of my plugs from the states?

Thanks.

Read the brick on your power cord. Does it say 110v or does it say "110-240v 50-60 Hz". If the 2nd, then you are fine. You simple need a plug adapter. You can get them in the hardware department of any store here or back home.

They cost between 50 cents and a dollar.

IF it is the 1st one, then you will need to get a step down transformer to change the voltage from 240 to 110. They can also be bought here at most large department stores like lotte, home-plus or e-mart. Look in the electrical department by the light fixtures.

99.9% of all laptops are made for business travel and do NOT need a converter. They have a smart brick that can handle the various power supplies around the world.
