There was a short news report that Abe and the Japanese government were reviewing/evaluating Japan's anti-nuke policy. No surprise. Only a fool wouldn't, given last week's events.
My question:
Suppose Japan went nuclear next year.
How many hours (or minutes) would it be before South Korea
a) formally demanded the US remove all troops
b) Roh sent someone to Beijing begging for an alliance
c) agreed that SK would reunite with the Norks under any terms available, including electing/appointing KJI hereditary Dear Leader of All Koreans for All Eternity including requiring all agasshis give up their cell phones and make-up and polls would show a 98% approval?
d) and the National Assembly pass a unanimous resolution blaming the US and/or Japan for any droughts or periods of excessive rain. |

e) Bee man would die, crushed to death by the amount of the insects he would have to cover himself in to protest such an outrage.
f) Flag biter would choke to death on the world's biggest rising sun.
No seriously, I believe it would take a more serious deterioration of the situation in this part of the world. Japan is, after all, protected by the US nuclear umbrella. |

I agree. Things aren't quite ready for Japan to do it. My aim was to ask about the consequences when Japan eventually does succumb to US pressure to fully and openly rearm. |

I wonder what the economic effects will be and if such a rearmament would either a) suck money from the Japanese economy or b) create stimulus in the form of an arms industry? |
