Is the season over or are the playoffs still underway? If so, where can I get tickets or find a schedule (I am having trouble finding anything useful online)?
Any advice on how to watch any of that dredfully entertaining Korean hockey league either?
Thanks. |

they are in the second round, Hanhwa (Daejeon) vs Hyundai (Suwon), series is best of 5 that started Fri. off today, play tomorrow and Tues in Daejeon then if necessary Thurs back in Suwon
Winner gets Samsung (Daegu) for the title. Best of 7 starting Sat in Daegu. Get this they play 2 at each teams home field then any other games are played in Seoul at Jamshil. You win the reg season title and you dont even get home field for the finals.
Anybody know if they use that ridiculous 12 inning/4 hour rule? I remember a couple of years ago they did and they wound playing the deciding game (like game 10 or 11 because of that) on a cold and rainy Monday night in Seoul with nobody there |

| Thanks a lot for your info. Where did you get that information? Are there any English websites that I can check out? Would these games be totally sold out or would there be a way to get tickets? Any more info would be great, thanks again. |

Korean attendance during the regular season is pretty low until the end of the season. If it weren't for the company sponsorship there wouldn't really be any baseball in Korea. The Japanese love their baseball and each stadium is sold out every night.
Hell, I hardly know any of the Korean players except for Lee Seong Hyup over in Japan.
In the MLB, there isn't really any Korean worth mentioning. Park Chan Ho had a terrible season this year in San Diego. |

16th- @ Daejeon at 6pm
17th- @ Daejeon at 6pm
19th- @ Suwon at 6pm (if needed)
games should not be sold out. should be able to walk up to the ticket office and buy them...or from the ahjumma ticket scalpers. hyundai has the least support in the KBO and Hanwha is in Daejeon, so not as many fans make it out there as well.
When the Korea Series makes it to Jamshil, you should still be able to get tickets the day of the game.

I'm thinking of going when it hits Jamshil that Sat, a better choice for something to do than go to the KOTESOL conference. Lets hope it hits game 6 |

| Daejeon won't be sold out, but it will be quite full. Even during the regular season, Hanhwa's team gets quite a bit of support and if there is any promotion at all going on, it is difficult to get a good seat. If you want to get a good seat during the play-offs, go early! It's good fun though -- hubby and I went to about 10 games last season and once this year, before my baby belly got too big for those teeny tiny seats. |

| I think the use of the word "PRO" is used quite liberally here. Korean "PRO" baseball actually reminds me a bit of the CFL back in Canada. We all know the NFL is the real pro league. |

Hanhwa knocks off Hyundai 5-4. Hanhwa now leads the series 2-1. Game 4 is at Daejeon on Tuesday at 6pm.

Good thing we can live in a world where there can be more than 1 pro league. What do you think of the Japanese league? |

good point ajgeddes. not to mention that Korean league is as good or better than watching a AAA game. it is kinda like the CFL, except that the CFL is a slightly different game. the Japanese league is better quality, and that fact that people actually go watch the games says something too. |

Japanese ball has been considered to be on the US level of AAA with major league attendence levels
Korean ball is at best on the AA level. Remember when that guy for Samsung broke the Asian home run record and he was all hot to go to the majors. Well the majors looked at him and said he'd have to go to AAA before making the big club, Well he's in Japan now |
