Anybody down for the film fest? Any recommendations for the Haeundae area for bars and clubs? There certainly are tons, but oh, which to choose...
Also, I may be selling some tickets for weekday evening shows next week if anyone's interested. I bought several but now I wonder if it's at all feasible. The trek from Sasang Station (the bus terminal) to Haeundae is a long, long 50 mins or so by subway after the initial 1 1/2 hour bus ride from Jinju to Busan. For me to get to a 5:00 show I'd have to leave work pretty early and I'm not sure they'd loose me then. Does anyone know how much a Sasang-Haeundae taxi'd be, or a shorter way from Sasang to Haeundae than the subway? At this point it's just looking like too much effort to hit those weekday shows, as much as I want to. |

| Any tickets for the saturday shows? Me and my friends wanted to go from Jinhae but had no luck for tickets. Instead we are doing the beach and some black market shopping......Maybe you should hold on to your tickets..... J/k |

I'll be here through Monday, which I have off. Weekend tickets are a madman - most were sold out within the first half hour of the opening of online ticketing, and I only got a few. I'm talking Tue-Wed-Thu evenings for possible sell-off.
To be honest, so far the Fest is kind of yanking my chain. There are two venues, Haeundae and Nampodong, which are on the complete opposite ends of the Busan map. Took a subway from Haeundae to Nampodong this morning, figuring that an hour should be plenty of time, then after awhile realized that given the subway's slow slog from point to point I wouldn't make it in time got off at a random stop about ten from the destination, hopped a taxi that drove at full throttle, still arrived two minutes late and they wouldnt let me in. I begged, told em I had a ticket, but just got the Korean stonewall: "Oh, very very sorry. Very very sorry sir. Show already started." At least they're apologetic when they tell you they're ruining your morning. Now back on the damned subway and the epic journey back to Haeundae, where the rest of my shows are going to be (Halleluhah! no more Nampodong).
But so far I'm not impressed with "Asia's Finest Film Festival." They're screening some good movies but the layout seems like it needs to be better thought-out. |
