What a focusedly ignorant nation of people.

The title of the thread isn't really appropriate because it implies that all Koreans are demonstrating against the US. Koreans also staged big demonstrations against NK. Still, I completely agree that the Koreans in the picture are ignorant.

I love how they all focus on the US like they're the only country pushing for sanctions. Sad little people... (relax. not all Koreans!)

Are sanctions really a good idea? The more free trade North Korea does the sooner it's people find out what a con it's government is. Have sanctions ever worked? (see Iraq, Cuba, Burma, Zimbabwe ect)

You could also argue that talks haven't worked either.

What i find retarded is how koreans think the US is the only other country in the world apart from Korea. And that all foreigners must be americans.
And therefore must be arrogant hamburger-eating cowboys.

For a member of the worlds top 15 most developed nations, Korea sure is amazingly ignorant about the world outside.

I don't think sanctions had much effect on SA, however much the international community would like to think they were responsible. The world wanted S.A's gold, diamonds and numerous other resources far too much. SA is a hugely diverse country with thriving agriculture and fisheries etc etc. It doesn't lack for much.

The killer was that whites were a tiny minority. 5 % of the pop. And that other 95% had been radicalised, lost patience and pressed the system beyond its ability to cope.

North korea is an entirely different scenario. They are largely dependant on China, the one country that refuses to tighten the noose.

I am waiting for another "Yanks go home" demonstration.

It would be really interesting to see what SK and NK will do if and when all Yanks packed up and went home.

SK will probably *beep* on their panties and all will try to follow the Yanks.
NK will no doubtly invade SK.

Well, it's getting kind of hard being ignorant about how things have changed since the Clinton administration. And I'm not just talking about the relations between the U.S. and North Korea. The national debt has been rising to the sky for the U.S. but Americans don't really care, I guess.

It's been basically proven that talks are better than sanctions when it comes to North Korea. However, the U.S. government doesn't like talks and aids anymore. Why?

The Bush administration is currently struggling with money. If I remember correctly, the dollar has lost 25% of its value from the year 2000 to 2004. Warren Buffett has been saying how he has lost trust in the U.S. dollar, but nobody listens. Soon or later, the U.S. would have to print more money to keep things alive. I mean A LOT more. This would devalue the dollar which will increase inflation. History has shown us that this could be a very very bad thing.

The U.S. has its own problems. No wonder Bush doesn't give a sh*t about North Korea, and even South Korea for that matter. It's time to move away from the influences of the United States for Koreans, South and North. People in North Korea are our people and they are hungry. South Korea is rich enough to help out. What bothers me is the heartless people in this country who think we should kill them. Why blame the people? What have they done? They are just stuck in North Korea. Is that a good enough reason to kill them? The truth of the matter is that innocent people are suffering in North Korea. Hate Kim Jung-Il and the government all you want, but let's not hate the people.

They should have overthrown their oppressive govt. long ago. But being koreans, they just fell into line and started worshipping it.

The SK military is probably much stronger than NK's in its own right. If the US left I don't think it's likely that the Norks would invade.

Up until now the Bush administration has participated in the talks.

The South has been acting pretty independently of the US for the last few years.
