What's it like having mixed kids in Korea (half white/half Korean)???
What kind of problems do they typically experience?
How big an issue is racism for them?
I'd really like to hear your experiences if you have mixed kids in Korea.
Thank u. |

Koreans--so far--have generally pretty good when they see my daughter.
Women will inevitably say how pretty she is or what beautiful eyes she has. Men just look and don't say anything, if pushed "do you think she's cute?" will maybe smile and that's about it.
Older people of both ages tend to stare, a little offensively I find.
Younger kids say "oh waygookin."
I get the most positive responses from other mothers my age. |

At this point my only concern is they get too much attention and all the neighborhood girls totally fawn over my two little boys. In fact, one of the little girls recently marched up to wife and announced that she and my oldest were going to get married and that she'd already given him (5 years old) a "bopo." I'm hoping it doesn't go to their head.
Later on a really big decision will whether or not to send them to a local school.
BTW there is a famous Korean enterntainer who just announced that she's of mixed parentage. It's been two months and she's still doing her show.
I don't know, it may be getting more socially acceptable. |

There's a kiddo in one of my classes with a white daddy and Korean mommy. She seems to fit into the fold quite alright. |
