Been here 3 1/2 months and this is my third cold. I am getting frustrated since they last two weeks for me maybe I should call in sick for the first time tommorow. Is it just me or are Korean kids much sicklier than Americans? I can't say much for myself, I catch every cold that comes down the pike, but there usually aren't this many colds to catch, especially before winter is even here.

And its not the whole working with kids thing, I taught back home, and I got more than my share of colds, but maybe 3 or 4 in a year not one every month. Is this the typical hogwan experience or is it a bad fall for viruses?

Hmm, that gives me some hope...although my hogwan manager has caught all three as well, of course he's out almost every night getting trashed so that may be part of his problem....

I've been advised to have a flu injection. Does anyone know how to ask for this in Korean?

I found the first few months you get a few colds but after a while your immune system picks up and you can deal with them a lot better. Eat good too, and if you want to go Korean style, buy those Mega Vitamin (Bitamin Wink ) C tablets and taken them every day.

Yup, it's probably a) a different set of viruses and bacteria to deal with, and b) your respiratory system dealing with more smog/particles in the air.

This too shall pass.

About one a month? That's just about right for the first 5-6 months. Don't sweat it. Or rather DO sweat it (out).
