1. Arrive expecting the koreans to think you are different in a quirky, interesting way, and want to know more about your country
2. Find you are as interesting here to most people as you are at home
3. Realise that lots of people dont give a rats ass where your from, they hate you coz you're not korean
4. Resent the whole of korea, but feel guilty when occasionally someone is nice to you
5. (some ass munchers only) Come onto Daves ESL cafe and try to justify domestic abuse as "none of our business" |

| I've been in a year and I'm only up to step 2. I guess that's all downhill from here. |

| huh? Stages of an angry, bitter teacher maybe. My experience has been nothing like that. I don't know of any Koreans who hate me and while I've had stages where I wish I weren't here, or wish lots of things were different, I've never even come close to resenting the whole of Korea. |

I will admit that I'm not as in love with Korea as when i arrived, but that's just maturity. If i didn't like this place and it's people, I would not have signed on to stay another year.
Except in crowd situations, I've never been made to feel that people don't give a rat's ass about me. If anything, when people learn where I am from, thy want to know more about me. |

You could add a few more stages describing a devolution into some kind of bottom feeding suction eel and you could rename it the "stages of a couple of idiots who post irrelevant articles and/or insult everyone for doing the exact same thing they are doing."
Catchy. |

| Liking Korea doesn't make you an apologist, standing up for all the stupid crap they do does. |

| Not absolutely hating Korea doesn't make one an apologist. Just because you can't hack it, doesn't mean the problem is the culture. Consider upping your Prozac. Or maybe spending less time on Dave's (I find that puts me in a much better mood). |

What puts you in a better mood, Prozac or time away from Dave's or both? |
