There are such great deals! Less than US$400 with a 6 month warranty! ! Shipping to Korea is around US$70 and takes less than a week to arrive.
What do you think? Have you done this? |

caveat emptor. laptops break a lot. batteries don't last long. 6 months isn't really a good warranty. |

For $470 you can get a nice desktop with way more horsepower (double or more the capacity and processing power) than a refurbished laptop.
Why on earth would you bother except to say that you have a laptop? They are just an expensive and low power desktop for most people.
Unless you have some pressing need for portable computing they are NOT worth the money.
Now, with computers just about everywhere AND the prevalance of CHEAP ($30 for 2 gig) USB thumb drives...
it is just so much easier to load your stuff on the thumb drive and drag it to where you need it.

| I was thinking of buying one from usanotebooks. Desktops certainly are more powerful but I really need a computer that can travel with me. |

Refurbished laptops are a good buy! The batteries are not usually part of the warranty though; but, you could buy a replacement if you had to. Be sure to get a power cord.
I don't need to be really mobile, so I opted for an Optiplex SSF. Weighs a bit less than 15 pounds. So can pack it with me when necessary.
Just do what you feel comfortable with. Computers are kind of like cars or stereos -- there wouldn't be so many models if everyone was happy with just one style. |
