I think on some recent thread I read somebody talking about how many patents are filed and granted in Korea and someone else automatically dismissing it. "Look, 5000 my ass blah blah" Yeah, they didn't make something so monumental that every non-engineer/scientist can recognize such as the first airplane, the first form of computer, the first lightbulb, but in more specific areas, they have been making or improving part of what you use frequently (notably electronic gadgets).
