My fiancee and I have received a job offer from Kids College in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul and before we accept the offer, I am trying to figure out if this is a good location. Any information on this area of Seoul and the school would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!!!

I live in Seongbuk-gu, but as a previous poster mentioned, the place is huge. On the whole, it's rather nice, though. Hyehwa-dong is good for a night out, albeit one where you're very unlikely to encounter any other foreigners if that's your thing. The proximity to Dongdaemun and all the crap that can be bought there is also a plus.

Thank you very much for your response. By the way, would you rate this area in the top 5 places to live in South Korea?

Top 5? Depends on your lifestyle. I lived there my first year and spent a lot of money on taxis going to Gangnam, Hongdae and Itaewon. If you like going to clubs then I wouldn't say it's the best location(even if you're on the fringe of Seongbuk-gu near Hyewha).
On the other hand, you're not too far from the mountains(Bukhasan) and you'll most likely be in a very Korean area(though I've seen many foreigners hanging out in Hyewha on the weekend).
Really depends on what your interests are. |

You're better off not working for a steaming pile of a franchise like Kid's College either.
