I don't think he likes Jews. What is even more disturbing is that he would have had to do some serious stalking to find out I that I practise Judaism.

Hey - do you like Slayer? What do you think of these lyrics? Pretty rockin', no?

Auschwitz, the meaning of pain
The way that I want you to die
Slow death, immense decay
Showers that cleanse you of your life
Forced in
Like cattle
You run
Stripped of
Your lifes worth
Human mice, for the angel of death
Four hundred thousand more to die
Angel of death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Sadistic, surgeon of demise
Sadist of the noblest blood

Destroying, without mercy
To benefit the aryan race

Surgery, with no anesthesia
Fell the knife pierce you intensely
Inferior, no use to mankind
Strapped down screaming out to die
Angel of death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Infamous butcher,
Angel of death

Pumped with fluid, inside your brain
Pressure in your skull begins pushing through your eyes
Burning flesh, drips away
Test of heat burns your skin, your mind starts to boil
Frigid cold, cracks your limbs
How long can you last
In this frozen water burial?
Sewn together, joining heads
Just a matter of time
til you rip yourselves apart
Millions laid out in their
Crowded tombs
Sickening ways to achieve
The holocaust
Seas of blood, bury life
Smell your death as it burns
Deep inside of you
Abacinate, eyes that bleed
Praying for the end of
Your wide awake nightmare
Wings of pain, reach out for you
His face of death staring down,
Your blood running cold
Injecting cells, dying eyes
Feeding on the screams of
The mutants hes creating
Pathetic harmless victims
Left to die
Rancid angel of death
Flying free

(leads: hanneman, king, hanneman, king, hanneman)

[ angel of death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Infamous butcher,
Angel of death

Angel of death

nazi, no. naziphiles maybe.

how can you take those lyrics and see them as glorifying mengele? at best, they're an ambiguous look at what it'd be like to be in a concentration camp - through the eyes of a metalhead.

jeff hanneman's dad was a US soldier and proud as a german-american to fight against the nazis.

peep the lyrics to "behind the crooked cross" - sounds like a nod to "hitler's willing executioners" to me, rather than bigoted drivel.

Time melts away in this living inferno,
Trapped by a cause that I once understood.
Feeling a sickness building inside of me,
Who will I really have to answer to.

March on through the rivers of red.
Souls drift, they fill the air.
Forced to fight, behind,
The crooked cross.

Do only what is expected of me,
With no emotions my feelings suppressed.
Blind obedience carries me through it all.
Conscience a word I learned to forget.

March on through the rivers of red.
Flesh burns, it fills the air. [sings: Souls drift, they fill...]
Forced to fight, behind,
The crooked cross.

LEAD: HANNEMAN, KING
KING, HANNEMAN

Time melts away in this living inferno,
Trapped by a cause that I once understood.
Blind obedience carries me through it all,
Do only what is expected of me.

March on through the rivers of red.
Souls drift, they fill the air.
Forced to fight, behind,
The crooked cross.

People with Slayer t-shirts are generally cool, if misguided.

If you can beat out "Black magic" on a table, then you're a friend of mine.

if you think that slayer loves the nazis, you probably think that Swift really wanted to feed babies to English landlords, or that Qinella really couldn't understand the k-woman that left his apartment who checked out after him rejecting her advances.

satire. get it?

no?

I don't think it's shameless. I think there HAS to be some background to this story that we're not aware of. I don't know who hack is, but this... (SPIN, I'm thinking and hoping you're about to clear this up.) But if I got a PM like that, I think I'd probably post it, too.

And WTF is "Plastic Jew" supposed to mean?

Same difference. There is no neutral position on the Nazi's. If you're not against, you're pro.

A few telling word choices show the intention here...

"The way that I want you to die"

"Sadist of the noblest blood"

"To benefit the aryan race"

"Inferior, no use to mankind"

That plus the intense focus on all the lurid details of the suffering. And the complete absence of any condemnatory tone at all. That is not satire at all. That is fascination...

You must not be American.

Slayer are.

American satire is pretty dry.

You won't get it.

if you disagree, look at the 'speaker' of the song.

Now think of the word "protagonist."

usually means hero, doesn't it?
Everyone thinks that they're a hero. Saddam, bin Ladden, they think that they're heroes. everyone does. (most aren't)

at least in American jargon protagonist means hero, despite the efforts of Crane, Salinger, et. al.

Now think of the protagonist of the song(s).

is that any kind of a hero?

no. It's satire.

how about this one...

"sadistic... surgeon of demise"

"destroying... without mercy... to benefit the aryan race"

"angel of death... monarch to the kingdom of the dead. infamous butcher, angel of death"

"Feeding on the screams of
The mutants hes creating
Pathetic harmless victims
Left to die
Rancid angel of death
Flying free"

if you think this paints mengele in a positive light, you're drunk or you can't read.
