I would like to hear some advice from the Morning Calm veterans on this topic. I have my letter of release now and will seek another job here. Some prospective employers will probably want to know why I didn't finish my contract. I myself don't know for sure. I was fired, but I can't say with any certainty as to why. I worked there for 2 1/2 months, kept requesting my medical insurance (which the written contract guarantees) and never got it. My persistance on the issue probably pissed them off. They didn't like the way I taught. Anyway, what if employers want a reference from my former employer? It probably wouldn't be very favorable.
Should I give out the reference? What should I say in a job interview concerning this issue? What is the proper way to go about this? |

Tell them the truth, but don't get all slanderous. Focus on the positive things of your prior job, but also be honest about why you feel you were fired.
If you can get one of your colleagues to vouch for you as a teacher, I wouldn't worry too much about it. you will find a job easily enough.
