Has anyone heard of Soedaegu Wonderland southwest of Daegu or Jisan LEL English School?
Are one of or both of these schools above board, pay on time and treat teachers decently?
Any info would be appreciated. |

I've got a friend of mine working in a Wonderland here in Daegu (not sure which one): he works a split-shift from 10-12, 3-7, is expected to be at the school between 12 and 3 to look after the kids unpaid, and gets paid a crap wage.
Folks, no foreign teacher should work for a Wonderland school. No matter whether there's any specific info on any specific Wonderland school, don't go there. |

Is this the school that Prisoner of Wonderland is based upon? If so, or if it's remotely like it, run away! run away! run away! Wonderland, on the whole, has the worst reputation in Korea for treating foreigners, and trust me, they've beaten out some extremely stiff competition to win that honour. |

Jisan LEL English School |
I believe it's the school that couple of teachers are currently having huge problem with the hagwon owner.
Here is the link to that thread. Read it and you decide. It's horrible school based on the thread.

It is. FWIW, the director/owner told me they're under completely new management now. (Whether or not that has any bearing on it yet being a decent place to work is another thing entirely.) |

So, the director/owner you know IS the new owner/director, or the old one?
The old one was a nut. |

I don't know him per se, just talked with him for a bit, but he said that everyone (including himself) was new since the POW stuff. Of course, who knows if that's true or not.
He was a youngish guy if that helps at all. |

The new owner is probably a relative of the old owner. That's how it usually works in typical hagwon when they get into some sort of trouble. |
