Something that a lot of foreigners crave but is hard to find in South Korea besides decent tasting cheese, sandwiches, T-shirts without lame slogans on them, Jeans that fit and a good cup of coffee.....is live music.
We opened up Mike and Daves Speakeasy in Gwangju, Jeollanamdo, in January of this year to provide a place where our fellow foreign friends could feel at home (if only for a short while) and have a venue to listen to or take part in live music.
So far that has been going terrifically and we've had tons of great foreign bands from all around the country come and visit us, make great music and meet new people.

Between now and December we have a bunch more great acts coming to visit us. Maybe you would like to come and see us too? There is a schedule of the entertainment below and a link to our website where you will find a map of how to get to our bar.

We're still interested in booking bands and DJs for December and even the new year. If you are in a band and would like a booking or you are a DJ please contact us at:
[email protected]

Here's the Schedule for the upcoming month or so....
Live Entertainment: November Schedule

This Saturday Oct. 21st: "The Funk Ups"
Seoul Funk band comes to rock Dave's Birthday Bash.

Next Saturday Oct. 28th: Halloween Party
Costume contest, Air Bands, Pumpkin carving, Spooky Stuff

Saturday November 4th: Jordan Emmans Band
Progressive Folk/Rock performed by a hot 3 piece combo fronted by local talent Jordan Emmans. Jordan stole the show at the International Community Day. If you like John Mayer and Dave Matthews than youll dig this guy.

Saturday November 11th: Currently Available for booking

Saturday November 18th: The Forty Days
One of Seouls hottest foreign rock bands comes back to town! Take a big dose of Zeppelin add some Humble Pie and a pinch of Stones and youve got these guys. They tore the place apart back in July. Look out! Here they come again!

Saturday November 25th: Sun Radio"
Expect hard rock covers and originals and a crowd of loyal followers.

Saturday December 2nd: Farr-OUT! Charity 80s Theme Party
Tickets are 5000 won for those in costume. All ticket money goes to local sun-bin orphanage.
